Douglas E. Larson

Larson, Douglas E. age 92 of Eden Prairie, MN. Former resident of Bloomington, Shoreview and N.E. Minneapolis. Born 1930 in Minneapolis to John Lenus Larson and Helen Adeline Larson. Douglas graduated from Edison High School in 1948 and received a B.A. from the University of Minnesota in 1952. From 1953 to 1955 he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army in Germany. In 1957, Douglas joined the family firm, Midland Products, a concession supply company, where he remained until retirement. Larson was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. From 1985 to 1987, he served as president of the National Association of Concessionaires. He was a life member of the American Swedish Institute (ASI) where he also served seven years as a member of its Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Gyro Club of Minneapolis, The Skylight Club, Punschklubben and Svenska Sallskapet (The Swedish Society). Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn (Landry) Larson and brother Robert Larson. Survived by children: Jodeen Lawrence, Gary (Cindy) Larson, Rex (Laurie) Larson and Christine (Richard) Kirchoff. Nephew: Ronald (Lynn) Larson. Grandchildren: Brian Warden, Jessica Warden, Caylan Larson, Scarlett Larson, Melissa Pitz, Carrie Enyart, Adam Larson, Sarah Larson, Ryan Larson, Sydney Kirchoff, Alexander Kirchoff and 10 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mt Olivet Church and ASI. Services on Thursday, March 23 at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at Mt. Olivet, 5025 Knox Ave S, MPLS, MN.
