Nancy L. Gilligan
Gilligan, Nancy L. age 81, died peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023. Born Oct. 29, 1941, Nancy was welcomed into the afterlife by her loving husband Frank, sisters Sandy and Diane, parents Nick and Beta, sister-in-law Jeanne and many wonderful friends. Nancy was an amazing role model for true love, loyal friendships and amazing parenting. She enjoyed life to its fullest! Together with Frank, she raised three grateful children. Nancy was a loving, mischievous woman with an artistic flair who expressed her love through cooking and entertaining. She was an adoring mother and grandmother. Being hugged by Nancy was one of the best feelings in life. There were no words left unsaid, we all felt how much she loved us and how proud she was to be our mother or grandmother. Nancy is survived by her loving children, Eileen, Jim (Vikki) and John (Katy); cherished grandchildren Zachary, Ryan, Quinton, Autumn, Cole, Seth, Everett and super-dog Toby; sister Julie Bokusky (Rick), brothers-in-law Leo Gilligan, Dave Moen and Marv Foss. We are extremely thankful that Nancy was never alone after losing Frank five months ago. Nancy received amazing care for many years from her loving daughter Eileen. We are grateful that Eileen, John, Jim, Vikki, Quinton and Autumn were able to work and attend classes from home, allowing us to spend many hours with Nancy the last several months of her life. Amazing brothers-in law visited regularly to help fix things, and offer support and comfort to all of us. Thank you as well to Health Partners Hospice staff members Kim, Nikki, Heather, Sharon, and team. You were a blessing to all of us. Please join us for Nancy's open house, to celebrate her life with family, friends and colleagues, on Wednesday, April, 5, 2023, 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave. S, Edina. Nancy and Frank will be laid to rest at the Fort Snelling columbarium.
