Pehrson, Richard O. age 82 of Minneapolis, died January 21, 2023. "Pathfinder, Protector, Provider, and Patriot", Dickie P. was born on September 4, 1940. As a youth, he found joy and good trouble messing around with motorcycles and drag racing with his personally modified 1939 Chevy. He graduated from Roosevelt High School after which he attended Dunwoody Institute to learn the plumbing trade. He joined the Minnesota Air Force reserves in 1960 where he served as an airplane mechanic and small arms instructor until 1966. He married his sweetheart Char in September 1963, became proud father to son Rich in 1968, but realized his true calling as Grandpa in 2004, again in 2007, and thereafter willingly offered his services as honorary Grandfather to those in need. He was delighted to find like-minded folk at Big Timber Mazawaukins Rendezvous gatherings with whom he loved trading goods, shooting muskets, and swapping lies. Mechanically minded, a self-proclaimed tinkerer and "Ideas Man", Dickie was forever "monkeying". He believed most things could be improved with access to a blue Sharpie marker and a decent flashlight. He died knowing that he will be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Char, son Rich (Kate), grandchildren Sofia and Berit, and many friends and family members. Dick was buried with honors in a private service at Fort Snelling on January 26, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held later this year.
