Lucht, Ramona "Bunny" Carolyn After an exemplary life of sacrifice and service to others, Ramona "Bunny" Carolyn Lucht, of Minneapolis, MN, was taken to her eternal reward on November 20, 2022. Born June 5, 1934 on the family farm in Maple Grove, MN to Margaret and Arnold Lucht, the youngest of three daughters, she was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated from Taylor University in Indiana, majoring in Physical Education and Spanish. Most of her adult life was spent as a linguist and literacy expert in Papua New Guinea, where she worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators to produce translations of the New Testament in previously unknown languages. She was loved by the local people for her kindness and willingness to listen and help. She became a literary consultant for many other linguists in PNG, inspiring and teaching many Native people to translate and teach their own languages. Upon retirement, she lived for a number of years in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013 she returned to Minneapolis to live with her sister, Marian Colley, who preceded her in death in 2021. She was known to many people around the globe who join with her surviving nieces, nephew, and their families in mourning her loss. All are rejoicing that she was taken home to be with her Lord suddenly, without pain or lingering illness. A celebration of her remarkable life will be held February 17, at 11 AM at Hope Presbyterian Church, 7132 Portland Ave. So., Richfield, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Wycliffe Bible Translators.
