Tamara Hawkinson 'Tami' Sulistyo

Sulistyo, Tamara "Tami" Hawkinson 56, of St. Louis Park, MN, passed away Jan. 24, 2023, four years after being diagnosed with uveal (eye) melanoma. Throughout her cancer treatments, she continued to inspire her family and community with her kindness, joy, and strength. She showed us all how to live, as she profoundly treasured and found wonder in all experiences, making the most of every day. Beloved by all who had the good fortune to know her, Tami is survived by her husband, Api Sulistyo; their children, Megan Sulistyo, Ingrid Sulistyo, David Sulistyo and Alex Sulistyo; her brother, Alex Hawkinson (Anne Champlin); nieces and nephew, Grace Hawkinson, Lucy Hawkinson and Paul Hawkinson; and parents, Douglas Hawkinson and Cheryl Alexander Stearns (John Stearns). Tami earned a BA in International Studies from Vassar Collegein 1988, a MA in Communication at Arizona State University, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Global Management from Thunderbird and numerous certifications in global effectiveness and coaching. Throughout her career and in many aspects of her personal life, Tami had a passion for cross-cultural communication, understanding and connection. Tami was a life and career coach and a mentor to many - described often as a beacon of light, demonstrating how to live with joy and become the best version of ourselves. She was president of Cheryl Alexander & Associates, and she served as an elder in her church. Memorials preferred to Peace Church in Eagan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at Peace Church, 2180 Glory Drive, Eagan. Visitation will precede the celebration, at 10:00 a.m., a reception will follow.
