Elliott, Audrey (Sheets) passed peacefully at aged 98 after a long illness. She is preceded in death by brothers Harold and Bill, sister Merle and husband Orval. Audrey met Orval on a blind date where Orval decided then and there that he was going to marry her and her two children, Sandy and Peggy. They married a year later and welcomed Pam into the fold. Audrey was the consummate caregiver, a stay-at-home mom who provided love and care to all those around her. She made the best cinnamon rolls and enjoyed sharing them with neighbors over coffee. After the kids grew, Audrey began volunteering at St. Therese Nursing Home, where she met and loved the residents and brought many home for Sunday dinner. She went on to gain a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate and became an employee. She worked at St. Therese for 17 years before retiring with Orval to Arkansas. Returning to Minnesota after Orval's death, Audrey continued to care for others, volunteering for events at her senior apartment complex. She loved her family and pets, once paying to adopt a stray dog after turning her in to the shelter. Audrey is survived by her daughters Sandy Horman and her partner Carroll; Peggy Sloss; Pam Wandzel, grandsons Derek Horman (Carla Haney), Ben and Matthew Wandzel; great granddaughter Audrey Horman. The family would like to thank the remarkable staff at St. Therese who cared for Audrey with love and dignity. A gathering for remembrance will be held at a later time. Memorials preferred to the Animal Humane Society of Minnesota.
