Koivisto, Willard age 79, of White Bear Lake passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 21, 2023. "Willy" was born to Rueben and Bernice Koivisto and graduated from Browerville High School in 1961. He attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and later graduated from Metro State with a BA degree. Willy married Karen Koivisto and they raised two children, Kim and Kevin. Willy was a State Farm Agent for nearly twenty years before retiring due to health issues. He was also a private pilot, an accomplished carpenter, knife maker and an avid outdoorsman. He was happiest camping in the BWCA, cane pole fishing on the river, duck hunting, or sitting on a deer stand in the woods. He was a guide to many sharing his love and expertise of the great outdoors with his family and many friends. He was also well known for his legendary cinnamon rolls, homemade bread and cookies which he shared generously. He was loved by many and will be missed. He is survived by his siblings: Evelyn Biermaier (Ted), Greg (Dee) Koivisto, and Lyle Koivisto and his children Kevin Koivisto and Kim Koivisto (John) and five grandchildren. A family service will be held at a later time.
