Eastlund, Valerie Shoberg Valerie Gladys Evelyn Shoberg was born on December 26, 1927, to Melvin and Violet Shoberg in Scandia, Minnesota. After graduating from Cambridge High School in 1945, she trained as a stenographer and worked for Group Health in St. Paul. Valerie married Warren Eastlund on September 17, 1948, at North Isanti Baptist Church. Warren and Valerie raised four daughters in their Hampshire Drive home, with Edgewater Baptist Church being the center of the family's spiritual and social life. They enjoyed summers on Green Lake, Gopher and Vikings football games, and numerous trips to Europe in their 52 years of marriage. Following Warren's passing in 2000, Valerie demonstrated quiet poise, a stoic spirit, and tremendous strength of character as a widow for her remaining 22 years, recognizing that "we had a good life." Preceded in death by parents, Melvin & Violet, husband Warren, son-in-law Dan Blomquist, and grandson Jeff Koenigsberg. Valerie is survived by daughters Kathy (David) Bjork, Karin (Tom) Johnson, Kris (Tom) Koenigsberg, and Karna Haugen, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Jim Shoberg, Shirley Anderson, Marlys Hjort, Bob (Mary Ann) Shoberg and Mylo (Linda) Shoberg, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Known for her quiet grace and elegant beauty, Valerie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, by the grateful family she leaves behind. Interment at North Isanti Church Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Converge Ukraine Relief.
