Stedje, Clifton Harold age 97, was born on February 25, 1925, in Kensington, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Regina (Halverson) Stedje. He passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022, at Havenwood in Buffalo, Minnesota. Clif spent his youth and teenage years growing up in Kensington and graduated from Kensington High School in 1943. After graduation, he headed west to Oregon to work in the lumber industry and then went on to aircraft carrier construction. Clif served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from 1950 to 1952 and continued to serve in the Army Reserve until 1960. Clif and Donna Marie Borseth were married on Thanksgiving Day in 1953 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Abercrombie, North Dakota. Clif worked for Consolidated Freightways from 1953 to 1989. The family moved to Buffalo in 1965. Clif is survived by his wife of 69 years, Donna; his children, Laurie (Paul) Meyer and John (Marcy Stroman) Stedje; grandchildren, Rachel (Judd) Stevens, Erik (Kerstin) Meyer, and Danielle Lachermeier; four great- grandchildren; sister, Audry Thon; sister-in-law, Carol(Tom) Heaton; and many other relatives and friends. Clif was preceded in death by his son, Scott Borseth Stedje. Memorial Service Saturday, December 17, 2022 12:00 P.M. Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN. Visitation AT THE CHURCH one hour prior to the service, with a luncheon following in the Fellowship Hall. Private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
