Doris Alvina Fehr

Fehr, Doris Alvina age 90, of Brooklyn Center, MN, (formerly Robbinsdale, MN) went home to her Heavenly Father on June 14, 2022 in hospice care at Maranatha Care Center. Preceded in death by her husband, Peter, who died just 37 days prior on May 8, 2022; infant son, Paul Fehr; parents, John and Esther (Steinfeld) Adam; brother, John Adam; sisters-in-law Mildred Adam, Diana Fehr, Elinor Fehr, and Carol Peterson; and brother-in-law William Rath. She is survived by her children Diana Wogensen, David Fehr, Douglas (Sharilyn) Fehr, and Doreen Fehr, all from the Twin Cities, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Fehr of Big Sky, MT; grandchildren Lindsay (Matthew) McCoy, Jaime (Benjamin) Cook, Emily (Adam) Pettersen, Alexis Fehr, Peter D. Fehr, Shaelyse Fehr, and Jeddiah Fehr; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Marjorie (Harold) Lang and Jean Rath; brothers-in-law Walter Fehr, Eric (Chris) Fehr, and Robert Fehr; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Doris A. Fehr (née Adam) was born January 16, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis in 1949. Doris accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior as a child and was baptized. She grew up attending Faith Baptist Church in Minneapolis (previously First German Baptist Church). She met Peter Eilert Fehr at this church, and they were married there on September 11,1954. Doris worked as a secretary for the Black & Decker company in Minneapolis while Peter completed medical school and was ordained for ministry. The couple then served as missionaries in Cameroon, West Africa from 1958 to 1968 through the North American Baptist Conference. In 1972 the Fehrs purchased a lake home in Robbinsdale. Doris enjoyed hosting many guests, including missionaries on furlough who came to Peter for physical exams. She loved providing Sunday dinners for her extended family, and she welcomed her church family for backyard baptisms and Whiz Bang Days fireworks gatherings. Doris served as organist at Faith Baptist Church for many years. She also enjoyed painting beautiful chinaware. She traveled extensively with Peter as he served with the Baptist World Alliance. In 2019 Peter and Doris moved to Copperfield Senior Living in Robbinsdale; in 2021 they transferred to Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center, MN. Memorial service July 6, 2022, 10:30 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Minneapolis; visitation at 9:30 a.m. Livestream will be available at faithmpls.org/….
