Montgomery, Donald E. age 88, of Edina, passed away on May 12, 2022. Survived by loving wife of almost 69 years, Donna; children, Tim (Aoh), Michael, Amy (Mark) Kohout, Laurie (Gary) Olsen, Patrick, Katie (Chuck) Maday, Anthony (Rebecca), Molly; 14 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents Harry and Vina; siblings, Marcella, Harry, Robert, Rita, Paul, Richard. A Korean War veteran, former teacher, market researcher, writer, editor and businessman. He received his B.Sc. And M.A. degrees from the University of Nebraska, then completed additional postgraduate studies at Michigan State and Indiana Universities. At Indiana, he graduated from the National Defense Education Act (NDEA) Russian Language Institute. Also, he was one of 25 Minnesotans selected for the first Bush Fellowship Leadership program. He was a consultant for several national companies, an innovator and an inventor of games. Longtime member and supporter of the Catholic Church and involved in his community. Above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandpa. We will miss him dearly but his legacy will live on. Visitation 4-7pm Monday May 23rd at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 West 50th St. Edina. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday May 24rd at The Church of St. Patrick, Valley View at Gleason Rd, Edina. Visitation one hour before services at church. Interment at Ft.
