Mary Helen (Bohmbach Wyatt) Petersen

Petersen, Mary Helen Bohmbach Wyatt Born August 28,1924 in Minneapolis, MN to Clifford and Cora Bohmbach. Died May 5, 2022. Preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Earl Bohmbach and Cora Henrietta Severson Bohmbach; her brothers, Clifford, Jr. and Stanton Bohmbach; and her former husbands Oswald Silvanus Wyatt, Jr., and William E. Petersen, MD; and her granddaughter Molly Woods. Mary is survived by children, Cacky Bell, Libby Wyatt (Jim), Wiz Wyatt (Jane), and Andy Wyatt (Luann); grandchildren, Elizabeth Riley, Wyatt Nelson, Brent Woods, Lucy Woods, Susan Wyatt, Mary Wyatt Lee, Michael Wyatt, Jessie Wyatt, Claire Wyatt, Joe Wyatt, and Maggie Wyatt; and great grandchildren Brennan Riley, Rhys Riley, Laila Nelson, Mia Nelson, August Nelson, Clara Woods, Calvin Woods, Camille Woods, Isabella Anderson, Sophia Anderson, and Frances Lee. Mary grew up in Duluth and St. Paul, MN; attended the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1946 with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member and President of Alpha Phi, making many life-long friends. Mary met and married Oz Wyatt and enjoyed 39 years of marriage before Oz's death in 1986. Later in life she became reacquainted with a man she knew at St. Paul Central HS and married Dr. William Petersen. They were married almost 20 years. Mary was a lifelong volunteer at Abbott/Northwestern for 50+ years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for 70 years and one of the first women to serve as an Elder of the church. Most of all Mary will be remembered as a wonderful Wife, a great Mom, and loving Grandmother. A visitation will be held on June 3rd from 4:30-6 pm at the Washburn-McReavy, 5000 50th & Hwy 100, Edina. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 4th, 2022 at 11 am in the main sanctuary, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, followed by a lite lunch and gathering.
