Cottrell, Frances Marie Bowe Frances "Franny" Marie Bowe Cottrell; a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and grandmother gracefully and peacefully passed away on April 26, 2022. Frances was born in Minneapolis and was the daughter of Frances Lynch Bowe and James C. Bowe. She was raised in the Incarnation parish, in south Minneapolis. Franny was predeceased by the love of her life, husband William "Bill" Luverne Cottrell of 55 years, her brothers Thomas, John, Richard, Charles, Patrick and her sister Sally Bowe Daubel and son-in-law, Lewis Moran. She is survived by her sister Mary Bowe Faricy Pardue, Amelia Island, FL and all 6 children; Ann (Ken) Lockyer, Greenwich, CT, Mary (Fred) Sherman, Mill Valley, CA, Peggy Cottrell, Mpls, MN, Bill Cottrell, Eagan, MN, Jack (Heidi) Cottrell, Grand Rapids, MI, Kate (Jeff) Dusek, Mpls, MN. She dearly loved her 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Franny lived a beautiful and joyful life. Franny was born into a large Catholic family, where she learned how to be independent, patient and passionate. Shortly after she met Bill, their love flourished and together they raised six children. Fran received her degree in education and enjoyed sharing her enthusiasm for learning as a second-grade teacher at Annunciation Catholic School. A woman who was not afraid to share her love, she had an adventurous spirit and shared this spirit, frolics and fun with many. Fran enjoyed, but was not limited to, playing the maracas in a Calypso Band with her husband Bill and friends, volunteered as the President of the Minneapolis Women's Club and was an avid bridge player. The joy of her life was her community of family and friends. Fran liked to live and adored her travels to Budapest, Ireland, and New York City among many other places. She appreciated good books and poetry, "pretty" clothes and the seasonal changes of trees, she found beauty in all. In memory of Franny, remember to keep your family and friends close and stay positive. A memorial service will be held on June 10th, 10:00 am at The Women's Club of Minneapolis, 410 Oak Grove, Minneapolis, 55403. She will be buried at Fort Snelling, National Cemetery.
