Robin E. Schaller

Schaller, Robin E. Age 84, of Burnsville, died March 11, 2022. Preceded in death by parents and brother. Survived by his wife Barbara, son Christian, daughter Rebecca (Jamie) Pogatchnik, granddaughter Samantha Pogatchnik, sister Dawn (Florian) Weinhaus, sister-in-law Sandra Schaller-Birkemeyer, nieces and nephews. Rob retired from Donaldson Company, Inc. to take a part-time teaching position at the University of Minnesota. He was paid one-fifth the salary for five times the work - and he loved every minute of it. Rob lived his life with integrity and didn't much toot his own horn. He proudly supported She is ME, a campus organization, and a U of M Scholarship for female mechanical engineering students. He supported pollinator research at the U's Bee Laboratory and the U of M Landscape Arboretum. Compassion for hungry people led Rob to support The Open Door Pantry in Eagan. Rob wasn't much for crowds but he was always interested in Barb's State Fair achievements. He rejoiced in granddaughter Sam's athleticism and eagerly supported the Proctor school district's video capabilities so distant Rails fans could enjoy watching school events. While Rob freely shared his love for his family, he was not inclined to share his recipe for the sweet-sour red cabbage that was a must at the Schaller Christmas dinner. The service to honor Rob's memory will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3930 Rahn Road, Eagan MN with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be streamed on mtcalvary.com/…. Mount Calvary will now require masks due to the uptick in COVID cases. Rob bled maroon and gold. If you're coming to the service, you are invited to flaunt a bit of maroon and gold in tribute.
