Lutz, Donna M. of Minneapolis died on Jan.10, 2022 at the age of 82. Donna will be remembered for her professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to serving the public. She approached every task with optimism and confidence, bringing out the best in everyone she knew. Donna had a ready and remarkable wit, was of constant good humor and possessed unfailing loyalty to her friends and co-workers. Donna considered her many friends to be part of her family and cherished every moment spent together. She was born on a farm in North Dakota. At the age of five, the Lutz family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she graduated from Sioux Falls High School in 1957. In 1961 Donna graduated from Augustana College with a Bachelor's Degree in psychology and sociology. Donna received a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of North Dakota in 1968. Donna worked as a program coordinator for the YWCA in St. Joseph, Missouri before relocating to Minnesota where she was hired in 1965 as a Job Corps counselor in the Montevideo office of the MN State Employment Service. She worked in Montevideo for 2 years before transferring to the Hopkins office in 1967 where she assumed the role of employment counselor. Donna retired from the MN Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) where she was an Unemployment Insurance Field Office Manager. For many years, Donna served as a volunteer for the Minneapolis Public Library helping children with their reading skills. She enjoyed traveling, collecting art and Belleek, reading, playing bridge and Maj Jong. Preceded in death by brother George. Survived by sister-in-law Carol Clifton, nieces Julia and Jennifer Lutz, and a host of friends. Memorial gathering to be held in the spring, details to be announced later.
