Richard George 'Dick' Kamleiter
Kamleiter, Richard George "Dick" Age 82, of Edina, passed away January 8, 2022. Dick was born May 3, 1938 in Newark, OH to George and Harriet (Schultz) Kamleiter and was the oldest of 6 children. Survived by his brothers, John (Mary) & Dennis (Collette), sister Bonny (Gerald) Larson, many nieces & nephews, grandnieces & nephews, cousins, colleagues, and beloved friends. Preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Robert & William, nephews Jay, Tim, and Gregory. Known for his witty charm, sincerity, and good looks, Dick was a man of faith raised in Richfield. He acted in community theater, served as a nurse in the Air Force, was a career employee at Minnegasco, assisted in many funeral proceedings at St. Peter's in Richfield, served as Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, and sold candy at Harriet's Suite Shop. He loved to debate his politics, travel to Hawaii, visit with his fellow OSP residents, time spent with his beloved family, and his weekly trips to See's Candy at Southdale. Dick built many lifelong friendships & connections, through Minnegasco, his beloved home at OSP in Edina, St. Peter's, and his Facebook community-many of whom he had never even met but made a lasting impression. Dick has finally won that lotto and found his dream home in the ultimate paradise. Per Dick's request, no service will be held. Interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery in the Spring. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
