Johnson, Lila Marie age 94, of Minnetonka passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Care Center in Howard Lake on Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Lila was born February 20, 1927 in Deer Creek, Minnesota to Walfred and Julia Johnson. Lila was the third of five daughters. As a young woman, Lila moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Business Incentives, a small start-up company, and was employed as a bookkeeper. She remained with Business Incentives until she retired as the Vice President of Operations. One of Lila's most admirable qualities was her compassion for others. This compassion was rooted in her deep love of Christ and endured throughout her life, in spite of her long-term illness. As an active member of her church, she supported both local and foreign missions. Lila enjoyed travel, time with family and friends, gardening, and her beloved horses and dogs. Lila is preceded in death by her parents, Walfred and Julia Johnson, and three sisters, Mildred Peterson, Elsie Lekander, and Elma Aho. Lila is survived by her sister, Inez Johnson, and seven nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Howard Lake on January 21st at 11:00 am. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Swanson Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Howard Lake and Cokato, Minnesota 320-286-2534
