Heurung, Francis George a loving husband and father of five children, passed away into the arms of our Lord, with his son Jeff at his bedside, on Wednesday, Sept 15, 2021, at 90 years old in Scottsdale AZ. Francis was born May 15, 1931, to Ambrose and Veronica (Luckeroth) Heurung in Avon, MN. He graduated from St Cloud Tech High School and served as a decorated Tank Commander in the Korean War before becoming a Cable Foreman for Northwestern Bell. On December 11, 1959, he married Elayne Krausert of St Cloud and together, raised five children in Brooklyn Park, MN. A gifted handyman and hard worker, Francis had a passion for homebuilding, bricking, and woodworking. Together with Elayne and a determined work ethic, they built their dream lake home in Avon MN. He built beautiful desks for his children, a make-up table and chair, and other incredible items. He taught his son Jeff, his love for woodworking which he uses today to restore his lake home. He was a good-natured and gentle man, known for his quick wit, smile, and kind and compassionate spirit. He is survived by his five children, Dianne (Terry) Kowal of Maple Grove MN, Jeanne (David) Gulczinski of Rochester, MN, Thomas (Marilyn) Krausert of Scottsdale, AZ, Charles (Mary) Krausert of Plymouth, MN, and Jeffrey (Vicki) Krausert of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his wife Elayne Heurung. He is also survived by his siblings, Erma Kuehn, Evelyn Olson, Harvey (Sally) Heurung, Virginia Fritz, Don (Marge) Heurung, Joan (Steve) Kurilla, Bob (Jane) Heurung. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ambrose "Red" Heurung. A Celebration of Life will be held next year at St Benedict Church in Avon MN, with interment at the State Veteran's Cemetery, Little Falls, MN. Francis, known by many as simply "FG", had a deep, abiding faith in Christ, and at journey's end is with his Savior.
