Carl George Nelson

Nelson, Carl George 11/4/1965 - 1/9/2020 Carl G. Nelson passed away unexpectedly on 1/9/2020 in his home in Gainesville, FL. Carl died due to a cardiac complication related to an abnormal aortic valve, a lifelong condition that ultimately took his life quite suddenly. His Celebration of Life, which was postponed due to the pandemic, has now been re-scheduled. Carl was born on 11/4/1965 in Rochester, MN to George and Margaret Nelson, was raised in the Hopkins/Minnetonka area, and lived for the past many years in Gainesville, FL. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his siblings Christopher Nelson, Jessica (Lee) Johnson, Luke Nelson and Victor (Angela) Nelson, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Carl was a unique, charismatic, witty, intelligent, spiritual, and insightful person. A frugal and savvy purveyor of real estate and a guru of spiritual life, he relished in the daily quest of knowledge and meaning in this world. He will be deeply missed, but we are comforted to know that he believed with deep conviction that better things were in store for him after this life. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Bakken Museum, 3537 South Zenith Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55416. Arrival and greeting beginning at 4 pm. Service beginning at 4:30 pm. Celebration reception to follow with food and drink. Please come celebrate Carl's remarkable life. In order to protect each other during the ongoing pandemic, we respectfully ask that all guests over 12 years be fully vaccinated to COVID-19. We will be mostly outside, weather permitting.
