Anderson, John F. 81, passed away peacefully from Lung Cancer surrounded by loved ones on July 21st, 2021 just one day prior to his 82nd birthday. His sense of humor, wit & charm was apparent until 3 days before he died. He was born in 1939 in Minneapolis and started his 37 year career at Northern States Power Company (NSP) as a Tree Trimmer and was promoted to Tree Clearance Supervisor for his last 5 years. He was a spectacular man who was strong, inquisitive, kind, and ready to help anyone at any moment. Big John led a proud life full of beautiful moments with his family. He was a constant presence in their lives alongside his fantastic, loving wife of 64 years- Peggy. John and Peggy had a romance for the ages and their love for each other was always apparent. John could usually be found traveling with his bride, fixing something in his beloved pole barn, reading, or up North at "The Farm." That land holds so many memories for everyone through 50+ years of fun and was his favorite place to be. John was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Helena Anderson, also a baby girl born premature in 1960. John is survived by his incredibly loving wife Peggy, their children Rick (Nancy) Anderson, Jeff (Kelly) Anderson, and Debbie (Tim) Kraemer. As well as grandchildren Nicole Anderson, Lauryn (Derrick) Doty, Madde Boone, Kelsey Kraemer, and the only grandson Timmy Kraemer. Eldest grandchildren gave John and Peggy great- grandchildren who they are so proud of. Lucas, Austin, and Cameron Doty; Royce Boone; and Hazel Sykes. They could bring a smile to John's face to the very end. Also survived by brother Dan (Joan) Anderson, and 2 sisters, Karen Ahlman and Carol (Carl) Kopacek. John had countless numbers of additional amazing relatives and friends who were so important to him. He impacted so many lives. Each person who knew him was taught something by him and they will carry that with them forever. The Celebration of Life will be held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, MN (7401 County Rd 101, Maple Grove MN 55311) on Sunday, August 15th, 2021. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Service will be at 1:00 p.m. and a light lunch will be served at 2:00 p.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name to the Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org) or Lung Cancer Research (giving.mskcc.org).
