Person, Douglas Einer age 88 of Plymouth passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, surrounded by family. Doug is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Jill), Jeri, Jack (Sandra) and Jody Baldus (Gary) and his grandchildren, Tanner, Aaron, Sean, Joshua, Casey and Dylan. He is predeceased by his parents, Einer and Annabelle, wife Alvina and daughter Jill Johnson (David). Doug was born December 23, 1932 and raised in the Phillips-Powderhorn area of Minneapolis. He graduated from Minneapolis West High School in 1950 and attended the University of Minnesota before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952. After serving in the 25th Infantry Division in Korea and Hawaii between 1953 and 1954 he returned to Minnesota and worked as a banker in Minneapolis. He eventually became a bank examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and later for the FDIC. Doug married Alvina "Fritz" Bokinskie of Sauk Centre in 1957. The couple and their growing family lived in Iron Mountain, MI and LaCrosse, WI before settling in Plymouth. Doug enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching football and spending time at the family's beloved lake home. A private memorial is scheduled for a later date.
