Boughton, Jay Jay was born July 11, 1964 and died tragically on July 6, 2021. He was a devoted husband and father and gave selflessly to others. Jay grew up in north Minneapolis. He was a cub and a boy scout but was more interested in campouts with his pals than getting his badges. He was an athlete in high school, ran cross country, wrestled, and played baseball. After high school, he played floor hockey and softball with friends for many years. He married the love of his life, Kristin, and made a loving home with their two adoring children in a suburb of Minneapolis. Family was most important to Jay and his loving presence in their lives will forever be a positive influence. Jay loved music and live outdoor concerts. Where two or more were gathered together, Jay made it a party. He loved hosting the annual Boughton Halloween parties, mostly for families of his children's friends. He threw a mean bowling ball, usually capturing the trophy at the annual family bowling event. Jay loved watching his children's sporting events, loved going to the MN Twins baseball games with his children, and being competitive in his fantasy football and baseball leagues. He volunteered eight years as an assistant baseball coach for Crystal Little League and three years as an assistant coach for Armstrong Cooper Youth Baseball Association. Jay dedicated 20 years as a General Manager at his employer, Packaging Specialties. Jay will forever be remembered for his bright smile, contagious laugh, humble spirit, and gift of connecting with everyone. He was approachable, genuine, caring, and a loving man who touched so many lives. Jay's death leaves a gaping hole that can never be filled, yet we are forever blessed by having shared in his life. As Christians, we are called to not only walk in the light but to be the light for others. Jay was that light that lives on in all who knew him. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life." John 8:12. Jay is survived by his beloved wife Kristin, children Harrison and Amalie, parents Stephen and Nova, brother Chad, and many extended family and friends.
