Hall, Beverly Anne Bev died peacefully early in the morning on Thursday, June 3 at the age of 67. She was a fifteen- year survivor of breast cancer, which reemerged and metastisized in 2018. Bev was preceded by her parents Lloyd and Ida, and her brother Roger. She is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Mark Chergosky; sons Anthony (Brianna) and Michael Chergosky; siblings Janet (Roger Sletten), Dennis (Dorothy), Greg (Sharon), Glenn, and Deborah (Brad Kuglin); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Bev was elected president of her AFSCME local in the early 1980s. A firm believer in the dignity of all labor, she spent the next forty years fighting for improved conditions, benefits, and wages for working people. She held positions within AFSCME, starting as an elected officer and eventually becoming Assistant Director of AFSCME Council 6. Later, she worked for the Minnesota Nurses Association as a Labor Relations Specialist. As a regional vice president of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, Bev inspired other women to assert their power in the workplace. A celebration of Bev's life is planned for late July.
