Dressen, Roger Sr. Age 90, died May 28th, 2021. Born February 18th, 1931 Eden Prairie, MN. Roger Sr. was married 66 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan who passed on December 9th, 2020. She was the love of his life. He died of a broken heart but now Roger & Joan are happily reunited in heaven. Survived by daughters Lori Christian (Tim), Jenni Payne (Ron) son Roger Dressen Jr. (Mon Lizan), grandchildren Courtney Rykken (Jason), Ben Christian (Anna), Chloe Payne (Sam Berthold) & great grandchildren Charlotte & Eleanor Rykken as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews & friends. Roger was an Honorary Member of the Eden Prairie Historical Society. His Grandfather John Rogers was one of the first settlers in Eden Prairie. Roger was born at home on Pioneer Trail & grew up on his Grandfather's homestead farm. Roger worked at Red Owl's grocery warehouse most of his life. He had many amazing retirement years with his wife spending winters in Florida. Roger was a loving devoted husband & father. He had a kind, patient and gentle soul. He enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, cribbage & most of all loved fishing! Roger and Joan were founding members of the Minnesota chapter of PFLAG and were advocates for LGBTQ rights throughout their lives. He was a member of the Excelsior United Methodist Church. He joined the congregation as they are open & affirming welcoming everyone. A special thanks to PN Methodist hospice team who cared for our parents at the end of their lives. A duel memorial service and celebration of Roger and Joan's life will be held on Saturday August 28th, 2021, 11am at the Excelsior Methodist Church 881 3rd Ave, Excelsior, MN 55351 (952) 474-5471.
