Francis 'Frank' Dosal

Dosal, Francis "Frank" Age 83, of Wayzata, died peacefully at home surrounded by family June 3, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Joe & Rose Dosal; brother, Joe (Arline). Survived by his loving wife, Sue; children, D'Anna (Allen) Brown, Suzanne (Roy) Gray, Liz (Ben) Johnson and Michael (Lauren) Dosal; sisters, Alma (Norman) Green and Denise (Cliff) Butler; grandchildren, David, Travis, Church, Celia, Landon, Avery and Annika; great grandson, Jake; twelve nieces and nephews. Frank was born in Brownsville, TX, spent three years as a child in Mexico City; moved to Miami, graduating from Miami High School, University of Florida, and Florida State University. He worked in all three branches of government and at all levels from city to federal over his 40-year career: in Florida, War on Poverty, State Divisions of Personnel Management, Corrections, Mental Health; Chief Legislative Analyst. Moved into the judicial field, National Center for State Courts; Fourth Judicial District (Hennepin County) Deputy Administrator; Clerk, U.S. District Court (Minnesota). He considered public service a high calling. Frank was a man of many interests and great generosity. Stories of his helping family, friends, and strangers and of his sense of humor are legendary. In his last few years, Frank suffered from a rare brain disorder, progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Throughout his life he participated in numerous medical studies and was a fierce advocate for medical research. Memorials preferred to CurePSP.org.
