Eastman, Jean McDonald Age 93, died May 30, 2021. Devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother survived by children Jennifer, Roger (Mary) and Patrick (Stacey) and their children and grandchildren. Born to parents Colin and Marion McDonald of Annandale Minnesota. Predeceased by husband Welles B. Eastman and siblings Jennifer McDonald Goodrich and Janet Rebecca Peck. Jean was intelligent, personable and determined. She graduated from Annandale Public School, St. Mary's Hall, University of Minnesota College of Science, Literature and Arts (B.A. Summa Cum Laude), was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received her masters from the University of Minnesota College of Education (B.S. & M. Ed.). Teaching First Grade at Breck School for 16 years was greatly rewarding for her. She was respected and loved by her students. Later she was honored yearly by graduating Breck seniors who had begun their schooling in her classroom. Her connection through many generations to her hometown of Annandale continued as she was a member of the Board of Directors for the Annandale State Bank from which she retired as Chairman of the Board in 2003. Jean and her husband Welles were dedicated to raising their children and grandchildren to be able to thrive and enjoy their own families. A devoted Episcopalian, she participated in choir, church school teaching and other outreach activities in the Episcopal church. She was a Delta Gamma, a docent for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and an avid reader and member of many book clubs. She enjoyed visiting with friends, traveling, classical music concerts and sitting anywhere with a lake view. The family would like to thank the members and staff of Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral and the friends and expert staff at Folkestone senior living community for their care and friendship of Jean. A memorial service and burial have been held at Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral with her immediate family.
