Ralph Louis Hyde of Mora, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 23, 2021, at the age of 76, and the world quietly lost a gentle and kind soul. Ralph was a great son, brother, husband, father, leader and friend to all who knew him.

Ralph was born to parents Lesley Hyde and Lorna Faye Harms on January 29, 1945 in Bremerton, WA, and attended Forest Lake High School in MN. In 1979, he married his beloved wife, Judy Hyde. Ralph joined the military in 1962 and proudly served a long and decorated career in the Navy, and the Army and Air Force Reserves. Along with his military service, Ralph built a career in electrical design working for American Hoist and Derrick in Minneapolis and United Defense in Fridley, MN.

Ralph is survived by his sons Duane Hyde (Melanie) and Joshua Hyde (Lisa), and stepchildren, Barbara Hamilton (Jeff), Jennifer Bjoraker (Jan) and Dr. Jeffrey Bjoraker (Sarah), his sisters, Edith Carlson (Walt), Faye Basinger (Bob), and Anita Weller (Steve) and his brother, Wayne Brown (Cheryl); seven grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hyde, his son, Jesse Hyde, his parents, Lorna and Leslie, his cherished stepfather Ernest E. Brown, and mother-in-law Marion Vorlicek, whom he adored.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his extended family at Desert Cypress RV Park in Wickenburg, AZ where Ralph spent his winters.  The love and care Ralph was shown and the great affinity he felt for the good folks within the Desert Cypress family community helped to make his time in AZ enjoyable and gave him a place to call home.

A celebration of life gathering will be held this summer in Mora, MN on a date not yet determined. The family requests any donations be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project: woundedwarriorproject.org
