Phyllis Lorraine (Kyllo) Curran

Curran, Phyllis Lorraine (nee Kyllo) age 96, on January 21 passed peacefully at home in Hudson, Wisconsin, surrounded by loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Curran; parents Oscar and Gudrun Kyllo; and siblings Muriel Loe and Donald Kyllo. Phyllis dedicated her life to family, raising three children and devoting her later years to descendants and other relatives. Still, she was proud of her workplace accomplishments. Starting as a clerk in an Egekvist Bakery while attending South High School, she became bookkeeper in charge of all payroll for that local chain. After her youngest child entered high school, Phyllis enjoyed ten years as assistant bookkeeper in a luxury jewelry/gift store as well as brief employment in the federal government where she learned to work a computer. Phyllis took great pride in being "100% Norwegian" and "a Minnesota girl," born and raised in Minneapolis. To the end she lived life fully, loved the outdoors and walking fast, and was always up for any travel or activity. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Susan and Paul Lavrakas, Kevin and Sonia "Toni" Curran, and David and Dina Curran; five grandchildren plus spouses: Jessica and Christopher Gruber, Daniel and Ali Curran, Cory Curran, Francesca and Jero Pulega, and Kent Curran; seven great grandchildren: Matthew, Steven, Luke and Kaylee Gruber, and Dane, Jett and Boone Curran; siblings Dorothy Johnson and Richard Kyllo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Phyllis leaves a legacy of faith and love, along with countless cherished memories. She and Larry were active members of the First Evangelical Free Church. After a private burial now, a memorial celebration will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, please donate to First Evangelical Free Church, Maplewood; or to Lakeview Hospice and Homecare.
