McMahon, Marie Lane passed away at 8 am on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born on October 13, 1946 in St. Paul and was the only child of Marguerite and William Junterman. As she grew up Marie attended schools in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Minnesota, where she attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Marie moved back to the St. Paul area and found employment in a variety of state agencies. At the departments of Energy and Economic Development she met Michael McMahon. They married in November of 1984. The following year, Marie gave birth to twins, Marguerite (Maggie) and John. The family continued to live in Shoreview. Maggie and John are now 35 years old, employed, and are living on their own. They both live in Minnesota, so family meetings are frequent. Marie & Michael retired and are over 70 years old and have been living in senior housing in Shoreview. Marie was a loving, fun, accepting, intelligent, and genuine person. She was a supportive friend and mother and never hesitated to tell you the truth. She was someone you could always count on being there for you, even as things became more difficult physically for her at the end. Marie was a lover of all living things and had many pets, plants, and gardens throughout the years. For about 30 years, Marie struggled with a variety of chronic diseases, including cancer. On Sunday, the latest cancer won the struggle. She is survived by Husband Michael; daughter Maggie; son John, stepdaughter Erin Lehmann (Matt), grandchildren Nick and Emma, and many friends in the Twin Cities area.
