Lund, Richard "Dick" Age 88, of Edina passed away on December 27 after a long ordeal with Vascular Dementia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Jack; brothers, Don, John, and Bob. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Carrie Bergman (Mike) and Sue Gerber (Rob); grandchildren, Becca Baumgarn (Brock), Katie Gerber, Sam Gerber, Joseph Bergman, Isabella Bergman, AnDreah Bergman, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dick graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1949 and spent three years in the U.S. Navy. He attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also received an MBA degree from the University of St Thomas. He worked at Minneapolis Honeywell for thirty years. Dick was a lifetime learner, an avid reader, a terrific scrabble player, a great cook, baseball fan, enjoyed tennis, golf, chess, poker, bridge, and gin rummy. He also took swimming and piano lessons after retiring! In ways of the spirit, Dick learned from his family, from AA, from Good Samaritan Methodist Church, from the Jesuits at their retreat house, at Golden K, Edina Community Education and the many caregivers at Minnesota Veterans Day Care Center and York Gardens Memory Care Facility. Prayers for a peaceful death and for the hope of Heaven to be real were answered for the family. Romans 15:13- "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
