Tillson, George R. George R. Tillson, of Edina. Our beloved George passed on from this earth on October 15, 2020. He was born on September 28, 1930, in St. Paul, MN, to Evan and Esther (nee Jehlen) Tillson. George graduated from Monroe High School in St. Paul, attended the University of Minnesota and joined the U.S. Air Force, where he piloted fighter aircraft. Following discharge, he continued his service and love of flying in the Air Force Reserve. George began his business career in truck equipment sales, later founding and running his own business for many years, Tillson Bus & Equipment Company. George was an avid golfer and belonged to the Edina Country Club for many years, serving as its president in 1990. He will be remembered warmly by his friends and colleagues at the country club and throughout the local business community. George was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Survived by his devoted wife, Judy, son George (Amanda) and daughter Amy, nephews, Jim Hughes (Stephanie Daily), Dan Hughes (Jill), niece Sue Godel (Ken), grandnieces Laura (Eddie) Rickert, Sarah (Tim) Langley, Samantha Godel, Emma Godel, and great-grandnephew, Lincoln Langley. Preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Jackie Hughes and Beverly Tillson.
