James Edward Pierce

* JIM'S TAILGATE CELEBRATION HAS BEEN CHANGED*

On October 14, 2020, Jim's wife of 30 years lost the love of her life. His sons lost their father, he was their Mickey Mantle. And Oliver, Jim's 4-legged friend, will forever be waiting for him to come home. Besides being a great husband and father, he was proud of his 24 years of sobriety, founding Pierce Sales Inc., his golf game, and hundreds of friendships made along the way, especially life-long friend, Dan McGraw. He loved and passionately supported youth hockey. Jim's "couple hours at the rink" meant 9:00 am to 9:00 pm cheering on his boys, judging every rink's "super-Snack" with his buddies, and watching any and all other games happening in-between. He died of pancreatic cancer after a 7-year battle. A warrior, he survived 78 rounds of chemo a badge he wore proudly. He leaves behind his wife, Leslie; sons, Brett and Jake (special friend, Syd Dondlinger); siblings, Kitty White, Patty (Larry) Mauren, Fred (Carol) Pierce, Susan (Tom) Hedlund, Janet (Wayne) Borgeson; favorite mother-in-law, Betty Jacobson; his hero, Dr. Michaela Tsai; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Mary Pierce; brother, Mike; and father-in-law, Cliff Jacobson.
