Schatschneider, John Age 75 of Minneapolis, MN Passed away on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 after a hard fought battle to Esophageal Cancer.
John was born April 17, 1945 in Perham, MN to Harold and Laura (Lohman) Schatschneider. John was an Airforce veteran, serving in Vietnam from '67-'69, and worked as an Electrical Engineer at Unisys for his entire career.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time at the family farm, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed being outdoors, observing wildlife and helping others. He loved Wednesday lunches with his buddies from the VFW and spending time with his children. John's gracious heart was second only to his jovial nature, contagious smile and infectious laughter.
Surviving John are his children and their mother, Rusten and Tiffany (Moore) McKenzie of West Palm Beach, FL; David Schatschneider of Mahtomedi, MN; Danielle Schatschneider of Minneapolis, MN; and Jaci McKenzie of Mahtomedi, MN; his siblings, Ann Scott of Phoenix, AZ; Roy and Carol Schatschneider of Perham, MN; Fern and Randal Nundahl of Perham, MN; and Lynn Braaten of West Fargo, ND, and many grandpets whom he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Jim Schatschneider and Donald Schatschneider.
John's ashes will be spread privately at the family farm during hunting season, and by his wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks John's friends to spend time with your loved ones, hunting or fishing or spending time to appreciate nature and wildlife. We're sure he would ask that you have a (strong) drink of your choice to celebrate his life, and dance to your favorite oldies song.
