McGowan, Brindley Barrington II, "Coach" who fought a valiant battle against cancer, died at age 55. He was born in New York, NY on 9/10/1965 and passed away peacefully at home in St. Louis Park, MN on 9/19/2020. He was preceded in death by his father, Brindley B. McGowan I; his mother, Julia Mitchell Archer and stepfather, William Archer. He is survived by his life partner, Sara Nellermoe; his siblings, Bernice (Rawle) Lynch, Tishawna McGowan Colander and Brinden McGowan; his stepmother, Diana McGowan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends he called family. Most importantly, he is survived by his children, Madeline (Isaiah) Richardson, Brindley (Mallie) Theisen, Eleanor Theisen, Eustace McGowan, John Lawrence and Savannah McGowan.

A memorial service will be held at Spiritual Life Ministries in Brooklyn Center on Friday, October 2 at 4pm followed by fellowship at the church. Live streaming at slcgrace.com. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home.

Brindley attended Our Lady of Good Council Catholic High School (MD) before playing in two NCAA tournaments for Lehigh University (PA) where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration and minor in theology. He served as an officer in the US Navy for 6 years earning the rank of Lieutenant and returned to civilian life to coach, play and scout basketball wherever and whenever possible, making Minnesota his home for over 25 years.
