Trygg, Aune Alice (Hautamaki) Age 93, passed peacefully on 9-13-2020. Born in Mountain Iron, MN, 11-14-1926. Aune was a proud 1947 graduate of the U of M School of Nursing, part of the WWII Cadet Nurses Corps. She grew up on the "Range" where she met her husband and started a family. Fridley, MN, was her home since 1961. Aune spent most of her career at Mercy Medical Center, Coon Rapids. She was an RN on the ER/ICU team when it opened in 1965, retiring in 1983 as Quality Assurance Coordinator. She grew up with the Iron Range's unique cultures and loved knowing more about other countries. She welcomed 3 exchange students to her home (Niemeier, Matti, Josefina); and she was "grandma" to 9 AFS students. Aune was a quiet, thoughtful person. She loved her family, drinking coffee, painting with oils, growing flowers, cleaning, planning, making lists, and baking. She made the best chocolate chip cookies and apple pie ever! She will be dearly missed by her family; daughter, Sandra Hulet (Howard), granddaughters Katie Hulet, Stephanie Elzen (Jake), Breanna Trygg (Josh), Angie Trygg. She is also survived by former daughter-in-law, Lori Trygg, 4 great grandchildren, nephew Murray Hautamaki (Pam), her very best friend of 90 years, Arline Hanson, and others. Aune was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gordon Trygg, son Thomas Noble Trygg (37) married to Lori, her parents and brother (Rudy). With COVID-19 restrictions in place, a brief outdoor graveside service will be held for family/close friends at 1:00 PM on Mon, 28-Sep-2020, at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 2250 St Anthony Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418.
