Betty Lou (Pratt) Larson

Larson (Pratt), Betty Lou Died Friday, September 4, 2020 at age 92. Betty Lou was born in Sauk Centere Minnesota to Freeland and Blanche (Peterson) Pratt on January 17, 1928. Her mother died shortly after her birth. She was raised by her Grandmother Hilma Peterson. When she was 4 they came to Minneapolis to live with her aunt Myra Okerstrom until she was 8 and Freeland married Theodien Briest. Betty Lou attended Edison High School in Minneapolis and married Albert H. Larson on March 30, 1946. They had 2 children, Larry & Roger. Betty Lou was a collector of many beautiful things including about 150 hats. She was known to many as "The Hat Lady". The family lived in Camden in North Minneapolis, then moved to Fridley in 1969 until Albert's death in 2012. She stayed in her house until her move to OakCrest Assisted Living in June, 2016, and then to EagleCrest Assisted Living in Roseville in November 2018. She made friends with other residents and staff and always wore her hats. Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, her son Roger. and her parents. She is survived by her son Larry (Valerie) of Eau Claire, WI, and many nephews and nieces, close friends and very special aides. Many thanks for the care from the staff at EagleCrest and Allina Hospice. No service is scheduled at this time.
