Welde, Ronald Bruce age 86, was promoted from "saint on earth" to an "angel in heaven" on 9/4/20. Although melanoma took his life on earth, Ron's legacy will live on through his family, friends, church, & community. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School & Augsburg University & served in the Navy. He was Director of HR for Marquette Bancshares for 22 yrs & Anoka County for 13 yrs. Ron led a life full of love with service to his community & dedication to his faith. He was a true sports enthusiast playing softball, umpiring slow pitch until age 75, biking, cross country skiing, & playing tennis 3 times/week until a month before he died. He devoted 60 years as a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He traveled, saw musicals, told jokes, & founded Pick Up Your Neighborhood where he accumulated 1000 gallons of trash per season. Ron was greeted in heaven by Jesus, his parents Hoke & Ev, & his son-in-law Bruce Johnson. He is survived by the love of his life Marge (married 64 years), son Rob, daughter Sue LaGue (Joe), grandchildren Cheree Geisler (Michael) & Aaron Johnson, & many friends. The funeral will be recorded and live- streamed on Sue's Facebook 9/18 at 11AM. A Celebration of Life will be held 9/19 at the Noble Sports Park tennis court in Brooklyn Park 12-3PM with a short program at 12:30PM & a box lunch. caringbridge.org/visit/… Memorials preferred to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church or COSAD.
