Sampson, Carl Andrew Age 59 of Minneapolis, MN. Passed away at his home on September 3, 2020. Carl was born in Cambridge, MA on January 19, 1961 to George and Janet Jones Sampson. The family moved to Minnesota in 1969 due to his father's employment. Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Janet, and his older brother, George. He is survived by his daughter, Alissa, father, George, second mom, Janice, best friend, Carl Beaumont, brothers, Tom (Wendy), Jeffrey (Laurel), Mike and Joe Weiss; sister, Suzanne (Jack) of Washington State, aunt, Barbara Rosato, of MA, nephew, Jack, and niece, Sadie, of Cannon Falls; family in Iowa, and many nephews, nieces and cousins throughout the country. Education was important to Carl and learning was a lifelong endeavor. He graduated from Rosemount High School and the University of Minnesota. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Daughter, Lissy, recalls many enjoyable outings with her dad; particularly at the Como Zoo where they slipped treats to the bears. Carl was always a presence in any group. He loved to make people laugh with his antics. He had many friends and was known to cook meals for them. His daughter, parents, brothers, and family, also remember his generosity, acts of kindness and support. He will always be close in our hearts. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, a memorial event will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carl's name may be made to The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory.
