Drum, Mary Jane Born in Superior, Wisconsin, on September 5th, 1924 to John & Mary Elizabeth McGuire O'Brien, died March 17, St. Patrick's Day. She was the youngest of 13. She married Francis Drum on April 7, 1945. They had two children, John and Virginia. The family moved to Robbinsdale where they lived for nearly 40 years and then they moved to Pequot Lakes to enjoy life at the lake. She worked for Hancock-Nelson for years as a bookkeeper. She was very active in her community and church. She volunteered at Saint Alice Catholic Church, played cards at the Pequot Lakes Senior Center (and other places) and was in a Mah-Jongg group. Some of Mary's loves were putting her toes in the lake, playing games, knitting, baking and cooking, once-a-year waterskiing, reading and, of course, her family. Preceded in death by her husband and son, she is survived by daughter, Virginia and son-in-law Fred Wherland, grandchildren Angie (Tony), Carrie (Jay), Michael (Heidi) and Jason (Colleen), great-grandchildren Savannah, Wes, Bruen, Cate, Drake and Frederick. Funeral Mass will be held August 31 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 509 W 54th Street, Minneapolis. Visitation 1 hour prior to 12pm funeral mass, interment will be at Fort Snelling. (Covid-19 mandates will be followed). Memorials to Annunciation Catholic Church or Allina Health Hospice Foundation.
