Johnson, Frances N. Died peacefully on 8/22/2020 at age 90. Longtime resident of Edina. Preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 37 years, Robert J Johnson. Also preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Graydon Newell, sister Jeanne, parents-in-law William and Corinne Johnson and brother-in-law, Howard. Survived by her children and their spouses Dawn (Ron) Halom, Marcie (John Brown) Johnson, and Lisa (Paul) Rebeil. Also survived by her grandchildren Kimberly (Rafael) Ruiz, Kelly (Michael) Hogue, Matthew Halom, Angel and Marcus Luther, Cayla (Joshua Scott), Collin and Camille Contardi and great grandchildren Matthias and Allison. Frances was born in Webb City, MO and worked as a stewardess for Braniff Airlines after college, in the early 1950's. She met her husband, Bob, on a blind date, married in 1955 and raised their children in Edina. Together they enjoyed football games, golf, bridge, family, and friends. They were preparing for the exciting time of retirement when Bob died unexpectedly in 1992. From this, Frances built a life around her family, friends and service, living part of the year in Texas to be near the part of her family that lived there. Frances was involved in her various church communities, PEO and DAR. Frances loved to travel, play bridge, drink coffee, and spend time with her grandchildren. Frances was always up for an adventure and made friends wherever she went. While we are saddened by her passing, Frances lived a full and long life of kindness, fun and love. We are thankful knowing she is reunited with our dad. Thank you to Sara More PA-C and all the staff at MHealth CORE Clinic for their excellent care of Frances and to the staff of Rose Court at The Waters of Eden Prairie for their compassionate care and attention over the past 10 months. Additional thanks to the loving staff of Fairview Hospice. A memorial service is scheduled for 8/26/20 at 1:30 pm at Calvary Lutheran Church of Edina. Due to COVID-19, the memorial service is restricted to family. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may directed to the MHealth Fairview Foundation, 1690 University Ave. W., Suite 250, St Paul, MN 55104.
