Skildum, James "Jim" Z. Age 75, of Bemidji, formerly of Andover, passed away on July 29, 2020 after a valiant battle with cancer. Born June 18, 1945 to Gerald and Emily Skildum in St Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Christopher Alexander. He is survived by his wife Cindi; brothers John (Roxanne), Steven (Corilee), Tim (Cherie); sisters Joan Peterson and Pat (John) Anderson; son Carl (Angie); daughter Sara (Jason) Kaufman; stepson Jason Alexander; grandchildren Adam, Ryan, and Jay Kaufman and Emma and Hanna Alexander; and many nieces and nephews. Jim proudly served his country as a Captain, pilot and flight instructor in the United States Air Force. His career reflected his love of the outdoors and included ownership of Kroll's Sporting Goods in Bemidji and serving as co-founder, President and CEO of Magnum Research. Jim was a lifelong adventurer who loved to travel, hunt, and fish, and his shore lunch cooking skills were legendary. He loved his family and friends very much and was greatly loved in return. A Celebration of Life will be held in remembrance of Jim in summer 2021. Memorials may be made to Sanford Joe Lueken Cancer Center.
