Smith, Thomas Randall age 77, of Bloomington, passed away on July 15, 2020 after battling dementia. Tom was born on September 24, 1942 to Harold Smith and Margaret (Meixell) Smith. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1960 and attended the University of Minnesota. He spent his career in the wine and liquor sales industry. He was caring, patient, impulsive and goofy. He had a special talent to connect with people and a knack for giving the perfect gifts. He spent many hours at the softball fields, was a golf fanatic and would cheer on every Minnesota sports team. He could sell anything to anyone, chose Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke every time, hated cilantro and mayo but loved a good pizza or burger and never passed up a trip to the casino. He loved to travel and was always up for an adventure. Even at the end he was always on the go and didn't like to sit still for long. He loved life! His spirit fought hard and didn't want to give in even as his body failed him. He was an amazing dad and grandpa and he surely already has a tee time up in heaven! Tom will be greatly missed by his daughter Deb (Scott) Sieling and his twin granddaughters, Cassie and Ellie, his sister Barb (Smith) Sunde as well as many extended family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judy Balgeman. Service will be private. Tom absolutely adored his granddaughters and memorials preferred to: bit.ly/tomsmithmemorial. Condolences to Deb Sieling, 5900 W. 105th Street, Bloomington, MN 55438.
