Ekegren, Rosalia A. age 88, died July 4, 2020 at St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee, MN. Rose was born in Webster, SD. She graduated from Litchfield HS and received an Associate Degree from Minneapolis Community College. She married Stanley J. Ekegren in 1951. They were married for 45 years. Rose worked at the main office of Honeywell, in the Treasury Dept. as a bookkeeper, and, after retirement, Rose worked many years at Jo-Ann Fabrics and doing taxes for family members and close friends. Stanley passed in October, 1996, after a long decline in his health. Rose married Eugene Huber in December 1999. Gene Huber was a widower with six grown children, all of whom took Rose in as part of their family. Rose and Gene enjoyed square dancing, fishing, and traveling together. They danced with Spares and Pairs. Gene passed away in 2008. Rose was a long-time member of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Richfield, MN and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Paynesville, MN where she enjoyed her summer home. Rose was a member of both the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Rose's health began to decline and, after a fall, she took up residence at St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shakopee, MN. She lived there for 3 & 1/4 years until her death. Rose died peacefully and painlessly, with family at her side. Rose leaves many nephews, nieces, step-children, and step-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Rose will have a Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery beside Stanley Ekegren. Memorials preferred to St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center or St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.
