Leer, Bonnie Gray Grandma Bonnie, age 92, loved family above all else and she shared that love with everyone she touched. Family first defined her long and wonderful life as a daughter, sister, niece, mom, grandmother and, to her everlasting joy, great-grand-mother. She celebrated her birthday on June 6 surrounded by family (appropriately masked), with laughter and tears. Born in Cass Lake, she grew up in the family bakery and hence no meal was complete without a plate of her cookies or signature Special K bars. An avid sports fan with a competitive streak, she never missed her "kids" games, although hockey referees often wished she had. She proudly pumped her pom-poms for 72 Gopher football seasons and stuck with her beloved Twins through thick and thin. Friends and family treasure her gracious hand-written cards and thank you notes which preceded every holiday and followed all occasions. She is preceded in death by her: husband Charlie (1985); parents Belle and Walter; brothers (Bill, Wally and Buzz) and sisters (Max and Gin); and lifelong friend Phyllis Brooks. She is survived by her: sons - Chuck (Mary), Buzz (Kristi), Tim (Robyn), Robb (Maureen) and Chip (Ineke); grandchildren Maxwell (Brittany), Will (Aisha), Ben (Kalley), Charlie (Melissa), Robbie, Andy (Katie), Chris (Michelle), Matt (Lauren), Anna (Dominic), Grace and Nick (Lindsay); great-grandchildren Charlie and Molly; many nephews and nieces including special niece Bonnie Jean (Bob) and daughters Rachel and Andrea (Mike and sons Connor and Dylan); and fellow Gopher fan Lenny Brooks. The family is forever grateful to Dr. Heather Gantzer and Methodist Hospice for their extraordinary love and care.
