Koch, Darlene age 80, Sartell, MN, died peacefully May 31, 2020. Darlene was born Aug. 21, 1939 in Cosmos, MN to Clarence and Violet Schiro Lietzau. She graduated from Cosmos High School in 1957 and married Ronald H. Koch on August 27, 1960 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos. Ron was the love of her life. They enjoyed spending time with friends, traveling, playing cards, golfing, movies and being with family. Darlene treasured her long-standing close friendships from their time in Brownton, Menahga, Hermantown, Willmar and St. Cloud. She is survived by her son Paul (Michelle) Koch of Plymouth, MN and their sons, Henry, Jimmy, and Teddy; daughter Jane (Dan) Kramer of East Lansing, MI and their son Elias, and grandsons Alex and Charlie Koch. She is also survived by brothers: Gary (Diane) Lietzau of Hutchinson, MN, Vernon Lietzau (Roxi Kohls) of Hutchinson, MN, and Doug Lietzau of Cosmos, MN. She is preceded in death by her husband Ron, sons Joel Koch of St. Louis Park, MN and infant John Koch; and brother, Marlin (Leora) Lietzau. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN or Peace Lutheran Church, Cosmos, MN. Special thanks to the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living in Sartell, MN for the amazing care and love shared with Darlene. She was blessed to call it home for the last phase of her life. A private family service will be held 10:30 Saturday, June 6 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. A link to the service will be distributed prior via Facebook. Burial will follow at Cosmos Cemetery. A public celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
