Brinkman, Alphonse C. Age 87. Passed on 5/5/20 from COVID-19/Alzheimer's. Al was born in Farming, MN and resided in Maple Grove and Crosslake. Survived by Gloria, his wife of 57 years, his children Dan Brinkman and Andrea Zimmerman, grandchild Zoie Zimerman and 5 siblings. Preceded in death by his parents William and Rose and 3 sisters. Al was proud to serve as an Army Paratrooper. Retired with 56 years as a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 596/68. After retirement, Al and Gloria enjoyed 25 years at their "little piece of heaven" in Crosslake. Al was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church, loved ice fishing, outdoor projects, making cribbage boards, and storytelling. The past 3 years Al lived at Arbor Lakes Senior Living and the VA Nursing Home. Al will be interred at Fort Snelling and his celebration of life will be scheduled when loved ones are able to gather.
