Kintop, Gladys Frances (Betley) 91, was born December 26, 1928 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota to Anna and Frank Betley. She was the youngest of 7 siblings. Gladys graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1946. She married Wallace W. Kintop in November 1948 and over the next 13 years had eight children. After Wally's untimely death in 1964, Gladys continued to raise their 8 children teaching them the importance of family, the delight of celebrating holidays and family gatherings, the lessons in forgiveness and unconditional love, and the importance of sharing with others. Gramma Glad/Auntie Gladys/Mom/Gladys was a woman of strong faith finding comfort in God. She lived her life with pure love and found joy in everything that related to her family and close friends. She was selfless and made everyone feel important. She was our calm and safe place. She had a laugh that was contagious. She was our number one cheerleader, without judgment or expectation. Gladys died peacefully May 20, 2020. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace W. Kintop; her parents, Anna M. and Frank J. Betley; brothers, Peter, Stanley, Chester, Kazimer; sister, Florence Larkin; good friend, Millie Betley; daughter-in-law, Betty Pafko Kintop; and Vince Martin. Gladys will be deeply missed by her children, Craig, Jeff (Dale), Marianne, Nancy (Tim Lee), Jeanne, Joanne (Jim O'Meara), John (Rachel), Tom (Sandra Paddock); her loving and very adored grandchildren, Dustin (Kirstin), Erin (Michael), Krista (Jeremy), Caitlin (Ryan), Nick, Olivia and her brother Matthew, Cayla, Julius and August; great-grand-children, Jackson, Reagan, Quinn, Ethan, and Riley; remaining sibling and big sister, Julie Helen Campbell; and her sister-in-law, Connie Golden and many loving relatives and friends. For the last three and a half years Gladys spent time with her special friend, constant companion, and laughing buddy, Betty Pede. Services are being planned. Memorials will be given in memory of Gladys to Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA), Sharing and Caring Hands, and Alzheimer's Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 18 at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 4030 Jackson Street NE, Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Unfortunately, a funeral luncheon is not permitted following the Mass. Visitation Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 5-8 PM with Prayer and Remembrance at 6 PM, Miller Funeral Home Fridley, 6210 Hwy 65 NE, Fridley, Minnesota. Please follow social distancing guidelines.
