Swedien, Thomas D. Age 83, of Minneapolis, passed away on Saturday, May 23rd. Tom was passionate about opera, movies, and sermons. He also loved to travel, especially on Cape Cod with his wife Helen and their family. He loved his family and friends, and will be remembered fondly for his conversations, sense of humor, gentle nature, and his strength in the face of life as a functioning quadriplegic after contracting West Nile virus in 2003. He is survived by Helen; daughters Betsy (Chuck), Susan, and Nancy (Scott); grandchildren Hannah (Nate), Scotty (Caitlin), Josh, Charlie, Ben (Grace), and Katie; great grandchildren Hugo and Juni; brothers Bob and Jack (Betty); and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
