Major Eugene 'Walter' (Gene) Killey

Killey, Major Eugene "Gene" Walter U.S.A.F., Retired, passed peacefully on April 22, 2020 at The Glenn Care Suites in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Gene was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Lillian (Baxter) Killey and William H. Killey on May 30, 1929. He graduated from Gloucester High School and enlisted in the Army Air Corps which later became the US Air Force. While home on leave he met & married Sarah (Sally) Frontiera. He earned Master degrees in both Business and Electrical Engineering while in the service. After his military retirement, civilian jobs took him to Wisconsin & Minnesota, eventually retiring from Data Card in Minnetonka Long time residents of Hopkins & Minnetonka, Gene & Sally also spent many winters at their home near Las Vegas, Nevada. Preceded in death by Sally, the love of his life for 64 years. Also preceded in death by his parents William and Lillian Killey, and sister Mary Lou Joseph. Survived by children, Mike (Laurie) Killey, Susie (Bary) Easton, Bobby (Julie) Killey, Gina (Damon) Mathews, and Lisa (Mike) Pavelka, twelve grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren, sister Natalie Linquata of Gloucester as well as many nieces and nephews. Gene and Sally were members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Minnetonka. They will be laid to rest together at Fort Snelling Cemetery. There are no services planned at this time. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful caregiving group and entire staff at The Glenn, Dr. Teresa Quinn, Kumba Kanu, NP and the Park Nicollet Hospice team. A special thank you to Deacon Michael who spent precious time with Gene in his last days.
