It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to David Todd Vanneste who passed away peacefully at age 57 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. David was a charismatic bon vivant with many friends who loved to entertain and was a generous host. His parties were legendary. Born and raised in Shoreview, MN, David made a lifetime of memories on and near Turtle Lake with friends and family. David attended Mounds View High School and the U of MN Carlson School of Management. No stranger to hard work, David started as a teenage busboy at Kozlak's Royal Oak Restaurant, eventually becoming manager & wine steward. David later was well known in his community as a REALTOR having built a successful real estate team with Edina Realty in a 30+ year career helping thousands of clients along the way. An avid golfer, David enjoyed many a round with friends at North Oaks Golf Club & in Palm Springs, CA. But David's favorite place was on his boat on Turtle Lake, enjoying the sunshine with his family & friends, pulling kids for endless tube rides. David is survived by his five daughters and five grandchildren: Sarah (Joe Thomas & Eleanor, Theodore, and Gabriella), Emily (Patrick Jalabert & Liam & Leila), Isabelle, Sophia, and Olivia. He is also survived by his father Richard (Linda Manfre), brother Brian (Bonnie), sister Susan Shaughnessy (Duane), and numerous & dear nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his mother Nancy & brother John.
A celebration of David's life will be held at St. Odilia's Church in Shoreview, MN Monday, February 17, 2020 at 3pm with luncheon to follow. Donations in his honor can be made to St. Odilia's Church or Our Lady of Peace Hospice.
